Chief minister Bhupesh Baghel on Friday had a meeting with Union Minister of coal and mines prahlad joshi, wherein detailed discussion on various issues related to coal production and mines in Chhattisgarh was held.
The Chief Minister demanded that the additional levy of Rs.4,140 crore, which was deposited by industrialist to Central government as per the instruction of supreme Court before 2014, should be transferred to state.
Union Minister agreed to the demands saying that the central government has filed and application at supreme Court for disposal of the aforementioned amount,besd on which decision will be taken soon.
The chief minister also demanded transfer II of the penalty amount of Rs1o,129 crore to the state, based on the supreme Courts decision in a common cause. Baghel urged the union coal minister to issue guidelines for CCL to increase production in gare pelma mines for safe drinking water supply and irrigation, return of land to state government after completion of mining process and immediate action of the mines of SECL that have been shutdown for proper disposal of fly ash. On this, the Union Minister give consent for formation of a joint team of CMPDIL,SECL and state government official. The chief minister further requesteddate with approval of chairman coal India on the proposal to provide coal to local small scale industries of Chhattisgarh as per the requirement state government should be appointed as agency for this purpose. The Chief Minister requested for amendment in the royalty rates of iron ore.
He said under the national exploration mineral trust item Chhattisgarh deposited about Rs 300 crores with the central government Baghel due to the attention of the Union Minister towards simplification approach for the use of this amount and for rising state government to select minerals for mineral exploration Union Mr Joe she agreed to the demand.
