 Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel has said that completion of Ma Bamleshwari Devi Mandir Dongargarh Development Project worth Rs 43.33 crore would place Dongargarh area of Chhattisgarh on country's tourism map as an important religious destination. This would also unleash immense possibilities for tourism development and would also create employment opportunities for localites. Chief Minister was addressing the bhumipujan programme of Ma Bamleshwari Devi Mandir Dongargarh Development Project organized at the office room of Vidhan Sabha premise today. Union Minister of State for Tourism and Culture Mr. Prahlad Singh Patel presided over the programme.Mr. Patel participated in the programme virtually. In the programme organized at Dongargarh Tourism Minister of Chhattisgarh Mr. Tamradhwaj Sahu performed the bhumipujan. Culture Minister Mr. Amarjeet Bhagat was also present in Raipur.

Chief Minister said in hs address to the programme that completion of this project  under Prashad Yojana would provide world class facilities to the tourists. This would further promote tourism. Chief Minister said that the hill with Ma Bamleshwari Devi Mandir and Pragya Giri Hill has also been include under the scheme.Jain pilgrimage spot is being developed on ChandraGiri, which should also be included under this project. Chief Minister said that thousands of devotees visit Dongargarh during Chaitra and Shardey Navratri. Nearly 50 lakh devotees visit here in a year. Development of public facilities would make the visit more comfortable for tourists. Chief Minister requested Union Tourism Minister of State Mr. Patel to include Kabir Chabutra, Rajmergarh, and Shiva Temples of this area under Amarkantak Development Project of Prashad Scheme. In Chhattisgarh, maximum number of tourists visit Amarkantak. Like Narmada Parikrama, people take rounds of Amarkantak as well. Half of the Amarkantak Parikrama area lies in Chhattisgarh. He said that Tourism Ministry has sanctioned Rs 80 crore for various tourism projects in year 2016.This year, Rs 43 crore has been sanctioned for Dongargarh under Prashad Yojana.

Presiding over the program, Union Minister of State for Tourism Mr. Prahlad Patel said that  Chandragiri shrine should also be included under the Dongargarh project, as it would benefit the tourism sector. He said that the projects approved by the Union Ministry of Tourism will be completed on time, so that funds can be allocated for other tourism related projects. He informed that under the Prashad project, world class public facilities is being developed in all the places that are important from the tourism point of view. He said that under Swadesh Yojana of the Government of India, the goal of promoting connectivity between tourist destinations. He said that the government as well as the society should also contribute towards the development of facilities in tourist places.

Tourism Minister of Chhattisgarh Mr. Tamradhwaj Sahu said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel, tourist destinations in Chhattisgarh is being developed at a rapid pace. Tourism development work will be done on about nine and a half acres of land in Dongargarh. He thanked Union Minister for including Dongargarh under Prashad Yojana. He informed that a tourism policy has been formulated to promote tourism in Chhattisgarh. During his stay in the districts, Chief Minister makes night stay at the motels and resorts of tourist places, so that people can get information about the facilities available at the tourist place. Member of Parliament Shri Santosh Pandey said that under the Prashad Yojana, infrastructure expansion works is underway in pilgrimage sites. Dongargarh is famous for Chandragiri and Pragnagiri shrines including Maa Bamleshwari temple.  Prashad Yojana will create new possibilities of development in this area. Secretary of Tourism Department Mr. Anbalagan P. gave the welcome address. Managing Director of Chhattisgarh Tourism Board Smt. Ranu Sahu gave vote of thanks.

Under this project approved under the 'Pilgrimage Rejuvenation and Spiritual Heritage Augmentation Drive' of the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, world-class tourism facilities will be developed on the hill of Ma Bamleshwari Devi Temple and Pragya Giri Hill in Dongargarh at a cost of Rs 43.33 crore. . Besides, Pilgrim Facilitation Center will be constructed on nine and a half acres of land. This building, to be built in the shape of 'Shriyantra', will be a special attraction of the entire project. Apart from this construction, renovation of the stairs on the hill of Maa Bambleshwari Devi Temple, railing, shed, drinking water facility, pagoda, solar lighting, parking, CCT, beautification of the pond, bio toilet, medical room and signage were built. Meditation center, cafeteria, stairway renovation, drinking water, solar lighting, signage facilities will be developed on Pragyagiri hill. The development of facilities will boost tourism in the region and provide employment to local people.

On this occasion, Chhattisgarh Scheduled Caste Development Authority and MLA Dongargarh Mr. Bhuneshwar Baghel, MLA Khujji Smt. Channi Sahu, President of Chhattisgarh State Antyapasi Cooperative Finance and Development Corporation Mr. Dhanesh Patila, Municipality Dongargarh President Mr. Sudesh Meshram, Assistant Director of India Tourism Mumbai Mr. Jagdeep Thombre, Senior Tourism Officer Mr. Ishrat Alam, Collector Rajnandgaon Mr. Topeshwar Verma, Maa Bamleshwari Devi Trust Chairman Mr. Narayan Lal Agarwal, Pragyagiri Trust Chairman Mr. Vinod Khandekar, officials of both trusts, many public representatives and devotees were present in large numbers.
