0 The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi emphasised the government’s commitment to boost farmers' income and rural jobs for the welfare of farmers.
Highlighting recent decisions aimed at enhancing agricultural income and rural employment, Shri Modi said that whether it is reducing the export duty on onions or increasing the import duty on edible oils, such decisions are going to greatly benefit our food producers. While these decisions will increase their income, employment opportunities will also be increased in rural areas.

0 Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation, Shri Amit Shah chaired the second day of the two-day National Security Strategies Conference – 2024 in New Delhi today.
During the Conference, Shri Amit Shah proposed a detailed strategy to augment counter-terrorism efforts, including cooperation with international agencies and enhance capacities to prevent terror financing. He also emphasised the need for increased cooperation and coordination between National Investigation Agency (NIA) and State Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATSs) to strengthen the counter-terrorism architecture. Union Home Minister expressed satisfaction on success in anti-Maoist efforts while cautioning the States which had recently achieved success in freeing areas of armed formations to maintain vigilance.

0 In a significant step to boost export of basmati rice, a premier GI variety rice of India, the Government of India has decided to remove the floor price on export of basmati rice.
As a background, a floor price of $1,200 per metric ton (MT) was introduced in August 2023 as a temporary measure in response to rising domestic rice prices in the wake of tight domestic supply situation of rice and to curb any possible misclassification of non-basmati rice as basmati rice during exports, in view of the export prohibition on Non-Basmati White rice. Following representations from trade bodies and stakeholders, the government had then rationalized the floor price to $950 per MT in October, 2023.
